Usher Past, Present, Future Australian tour: R&B star cancels entire Aussie leg, fans left devastated
Global R&B superstar Usher has cancelled his upcoming Australia tour, just weeks after tickets went on sale.
The singer was set to perform 12 arena shows in Sydney and Melbourne this November and December.
All shows have been removed from sale, with Ticketek stating all ticket holders will receive an automatic refund on cards used to purchase tickets.
No reason has been given for the shock cancellation.
Fans have taken to social media to express confusion and disappointment at the decision.
Facebook user Tara Willson said “I am gutted”.
Some fans are speculating about the reason of cancellation.
Dan Delts wrote on Facebook “Usher just cancelled his entire Australian tour? Poor sales? Poor health? Or something else?”
Other fans are wondering why there have been several big cancellations this year.
Deejay Dola wrote on Facebook “Why are so many concerts being cancelled? Ticket prices too expensive?”
Drake cancelled four shows from the Australian and New Zealand leg of his Anita Max Win Tour earlier this year.
This comes amongst mass cancellations of Australian music festivals in 2025, including Splendour in the Grass, Groovin the Moo and Souled Out.
Australian ticket holders have received an email from Ticketek outlining the refund process.
“All tickets purchased (including refundable ticket purchases, if relevant) will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method used. Customers do not need to take any action.”
“Customers who purchased tickets at a Ticketek Agency or using Ticketek Gift Vouchers, have been contacted to the email address of their Ticketek account to request additional information so we can process your refund.”
