A man has been charged with murder after a body was found on a gravel track near bushland earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to an area near Grampians Loop in Yanchep, about 53km north of Perth, where a man was found unresponsive about 6.40pm on Sunday.

Police and St John WA declared a 27-year-old man dead at the scene.

Neighbours told media they heard yelling shortly before police arrived at the scene.

Homicide squad detectives charged a 30-year-old Rivervale man with murder on Wednesday.

He is due to face the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Another man is being questioned by police, but no charges have been laid.
