HoopsFest January 15-18, RAC Arena The ultimate celebration of basketball will land back in Perth for a second year, with this huge event combining sport and culture. This year the action takes place during the regular NBL and WNBL seasons, meaning blockbuster match-ups over the four days. Performer and songwriter Cotchin recently toured with Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls on a sold-out national tour. Woodroofe, who was discovered and supported by the late Heath Ledger, has co-written with big names the likes of Matt Corby and Xavier Dunn. Pointe is the story of Perth dancer Floeur Alder, daughter of ballet luminaries Lucette Aldous AC and Alan Alder, who was stabbed by a stranger outside her home aged just 22. The documentary, by filmmaker Dawn Jackson, explores Floeur’s recovery from this traumatic incident and how it sparked a deeply personal quest to find her place in the dance world.
