Three Reasons For Revenge
Ireland-born, Perth-based author Dervla McTiernan is releasing a new book on April 28 titled Three Reasons For Revenge. The mystery thriller follows three seemingly unconnected people caught in a “lethal web of deceit and unhealed wounds”. McTiernan is partnering with indie bookshop Boundless Books to host an event this Thursday evening at Luna Leederville — making Perth audiences the very first to collect their copy and hear from the author herself. Head to boundlessbooks.com.au to buy a ticket ($15).
Mecca Max
In the lead-up to one of the most anticipated films of the year, Mecca Max is releasing a limited-edition lip duo inspired by The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Miranda Priestly approved combo features the pout pop matte lipstick and pout pencil ($30 for the duo) in the new shade runway red. Find it in Mecca stores, or online, from April 28.
Bixie cut
With the layers of a pixie cut and the length of a bob, the bixie is the hairstyle of the season. Worn to perfection by Zendaya on her recent press tour for The Drama and Euphoria, it’s described as a versatile and low-maintenance cut, requiring just a small amount of lightweight mousse or texturising cream to style. If you’re considering the chop, look to the likes of Julia Garner, Emma Stone and Sarah Paulson for more inspiration.
Blendcraft x Heartbeat High
Much like Pilates itself, this smoothie proves that looks can be deceiving. It may look pretty and luscious, but beneath its devil red colour — it packs a punch. With the sweetness of cherries, banana and strawberries mixed with functional nutrients of choc protein powder, collagen broth and a superfoods blend finished with coconut cream and water, it will power you through the hardest Pilates class at Heartbeat High — or serve as a treat after a long day. It’s available for a limited time only at Blendcraft in Bicton.
