Special guests got a first look at WA’s biggest display of floral artistry at the launch of Subi Blooms x Gather, with the festival set to transform Subiaco into a flower wonderland on Friday and into the weekend.

At the launch held at Found, acclaimed Sydney floral artist Bryce Heyworth of September Studio took part in a Q&A with Bec Marsh about his involvement in Subi Blooms, his creative process and his collaboration with Perth studio Fox & Rabbit on the festival’s headline installation at the Subiaco Oval Heritage Gate.

Guests were treated to bespoke floral-infused beer crafted exclusively for the evening, alongside interactive pop-up retail, floral activations, and food, while a live DJ set the atmosphere.

Subi Blooms features a trail of more than 15 floral installations across Subiaco under the theme Flora Aurora to celebrate flowers and light.

The trail will also include collaborative showcases and luminous public art, with a new after-dark experience called The Light Within by artist Matthew Aberline that will see Market Square Park illuminated by giant floral lanterns.

Subi Blooms x Gather opens on Friday and is running until Sunday.
