Vulcan Riders Association World Rally Albany tour fundraiser for rural charity Bringing Mental Recovery Closer

Vulcan cruiser enthusiasts Australia-wide and beyond will unite in Albany this long weekend to fundraise for suicide prevention at the Vulcan Riders Association World Rally.
About 65 Vulcan Riders Association members from interstate, Austria and Spain will tour the Albany and surrounds from September 26-29, hosting displays, sausage sizzles and morning teas to raise money for the charity Bringing Mental Recovery Closer.
Originally based in Bindoon before moving to Cuballing, charity founder Storn Peterson will be in attendance to bring awareness to suicide prevention and mental health, discussing how to seek and provide support for rural people.
A Show and Shine featuring bikes ranging from the Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle from the original 250cc Eliminator right to a V2000 big bore cruiser at Albany Motorcycles will be open to the public for a gold coin donation on Saturday from 9am-noon.
The touring group will also stop in at Albany’s Whalers Galley Cafe for morning tea on Sunday.
Vulcan Riders Association Australia president Rob Fitzpatrick said they chose to fundraise for Storn’s charity as they had a lot of country members and its important to support a local cause.
“The rally is about giving back to the community, Storn’s got the right attitude he’s speaking about something that is really important especially in rural communities he’s giving that extra support out there,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.
“I dare say it’s a easier to get support in the city — so to have someone (Storn) out there people can go up to is important, he’s free to speak to anyone at a drop of a hat.”
