Pornhub access will be restored for Australian users after the site blocked unverified consumers in March this year.

Parent company Aylo announced the change of plans on Wednesday, outlining a new age verification process that will safeguard young users.

The decision comes after Australia’s Online Safety Act was updated in September 2025 with mandatory age restrictions on adult and violent online content.

The specific method of age verification was left to the discretion of the content supplier, but they were also left responsible for any breaches of conduct that could cost them up to $50 million per breach.

Aylo reacted to the changes by completely blocking Pornhub access to Australian users who did not already possess an age-verified account.

Now, they are re-introducing the site with a rollout initially available for Apple users only.

Using Apple’s recently updated iOS age verification process, consumers can upload a credit card, passport, driver’s licence or alternative government ID to verify they are over 18.

The feature ensures child safety features are auto-enabled on the device for those under the age of 18 and was first released in the UK.

Aylo said the new process allows for seamless age verification for adults, and called on Apple to expand the feature globally, as well as encouraging Google and Microsoft to engage similar systems.
