Boy, 3, dies in Beenleigh Police Station following horror crash on Gold Coast, police declare ‘multiple’ crime scenes

A young boy has died in a crash on the Gold Coast, with police establishing multiple crime scenes across areas south of Brisbane. Officers were first called to an address on Burnside Rd in Ormeau – south of Brisbane – just before 5am on Saturday following reports of a traffic crash. In a statement, Queensland Police said initial inquiries indicated a witness helped a woman, 22, and a child in the vehicle before taking them to Beenleigh Police Station. A short time later the boy, 3, became unresponsive in the foyer of the station. Officers performed CPR but the child died. “A 24-year-old Beenleigh man, believed to have also been in the vehicle, had left the scene with another child prior to police arrival,” Queensland Police said in their statement. The man and another boy, aged one, were located at an address in Beenleigh around 6.30am. The child was taken to hospital for treatment. “The man is currently assisting police with inquiries,” the police statement continued. “There is no threat to the community.” Multiple crime scenes have been established as investigations are ongoing. It is understood police are investigating the possibility of the incident being related to domestic violence.
