Ampol confirms no ‘immediate’ plans to change postal services in Eaton as Gelorup prepares for closure

Eaton residents are being reassured there are no short-term plans to upend postal services in the suburb. Ampol, which holds the licence to operate the Eaton post office at its Foodary service station on Old Coast Road, has told the Herald it has ‘no immediate plans’ to scrap the service. It comes as the Gelorup Post Office run out of its station on Bussell Highway prepares to close its doors on November 1, ending the company’s years of providing the service to the community. Australia Post put out an expression of interest to operators in September to find a new operator for a Licensed Post Office in the Gelorup and Dalyellup area. Similar to Gelorup, the post office in Eaton has been a long-standing operation run by Ampol.
