Bunbury-Leschenault rotarians set to celebrate 40 years
The Rotary Club of Bunbury-Leschenault is calling on past members to get in touch for the club’s 40th year celebrations next February.
February 21 marks 40 years since the club held its first chartered meeting and will be celebrated with a gala dinner.
As a third generation Bunbury resident, charter member Neville Eastman said he was passionate about Bunbury and enjoyed being part of the club because it played an important role in helping the community.
“It gives you the opportunity to give back to the community,” Mr Eastman said.
“Over the 40 years, there are many things we’ve done that have benefited the community.”
One initiative Mr Eastman was proud of was the annual Give-a-Damn, Give-a-Can community food appeal.
We’re only a small club ... but we’ve made a tremendous impact with the numbers we have.
The club has seen many members come and go over the years and wants those previously involved to take part in the celebrations.
Past members are encouraged to reach out to Mr Eastman via firstname.lastname@example.org to partake in next year’s celebrations.
