Bunbury man Jason Michael Simpson fronts court over child sex, bestiality charges from ongoing investigation

A 35-year-old Bunbury man accused of molesting children, bestiality and possessing recordings of child sexual abuse has appeared in court. Jason Michael Simpson was initially charged in December with 11 counts of recording a child under 13 and five counts of indecently dealing with a child under 13, which allegedly involved two boys aged between seven and eight-years-old between 2019 and 2020. Police say during Mr Simpson’s arrest they found an external storage device in his possession and analysis of the device had identified a number of images and recordings showing further alleged child sexual offences. Last month Mr Simpson was charged with an additional ten offences, including carnal knowledge of an animal, sexual penetration of a child under 13 and showing offensive material to a child under 16. He was further accused of using a surveillance camera to observe private activity, to which he was not a party. Mr Simpson was remanded in custody until his next appearance on April 12, pending further legal advice.
