Bunbury Three Blind Knights jousting for WAM’s song of year
A Bunbury band is hoping to rock its way to success at the West Australian Music annual Song of the Year competition.
Blues roots group Three Blind Knights has been nominated for WA Song of the Year with their song, I’m Broke.
Main vocalist and guitarist Jeff Bruce said the group was very excited .
“This song is a representation of our times — people are broke and unsure about the future,” Mr Bruce said.
It’s an uplifting track to get you over everything else that is going on. It really takes your mind off the reality.
The group recorded the track at Sweetrockin Recording Studio in Myalup and will feature it on their debut album, Three Knights Blind, which is set to be released later this year.
Three Blind Knights formed in 2018, but this marks Mr Bruce’s seventh nomination for Song of the Year.
“Maybe it’s seventh time lucky,” he joked.
Category prizes include a $500 cash prize and a free day of recording or mixing with experienced engineers and producers, with a grand prize to be awarded to the top Song of the Year.
WAM Song of the Year winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 29, with entries into 17 different categories.
