Coles Eaton Fair finishes among top five highest fundraisers in WA for company’s contributions to FightMND

Bunbury has continued its support for the Big Freeze, with Coles customers and team members helping raise a total of more than $32,000 in just over six weeks for FightMND. Coles Eaton Fair was among the supermarket giant’s top five fundraising stores in the State for the 10th anniversary event, raising more than $10,000. It is the fifth year straight a store within Bunbury has finished among the top fundraisers, with more than $164,000 raised across the Eaton Fair, Bunbury, South Bunbury and Australind stores since 2020. More than $9.3 million was raised across the country by Coles during this year’s Big Freeze campaign, which will be invested in motor neurone disease research and treatment, alongside initiatives to support those living with the condition. Funds were raised from the sales of Big Freeze beanies alongside popular supermarket items. Coles chief commercial officer Anna Croft thanked customers, suppliers and team members for their record-breaking support. “(We are) delighted to have raised a record amount for FightMND in their milestone year,” she said. “We’re incredibly grateful to all our customers and suppliers for their generosity. “We hope the funds raised will go a long way in helping FightMND to find a cure for MND and to help support the health of the thousands of Australians who are affected by this cruel disease.” FightMND campaigns director Bec Daniher said the Coles’ fundraising efforts helped the organisation reach a final tally of more than $20.1 million in its Big Freeze 10 campaign. “Ten years of the Big Freeze has helped FightMND make targeted investments into projects focused on developing new treatments and driving discoveries towards a cure,” she said. “The funds raised during Big Freeze 10 will help continue this work. “On behalf of my family, FightMND and everyone battling the beast, I want to recognise and thank everyone who purchased beanies and donated generously to the cause.”
