Harbour Refuge and Support Services hosts appreciation event to show thanks for Synergy Spirit support

The workplace giving program of a State Government agency has been thanked for its support of a South West not-for-profit organisation. Harbour Refuge and Support Services hosted an appreciation event at Mantra Bunbury Lighthouse earlier this month to recognise the contributions of Synergy Spirit over the past few years to support those impacted by domestic and family violence. Synergy Spirit president Darren Walters and vice-president Joanne Wood handed a $9331 cheque to Harbour chair Nicole Frayne at the event, which brought the total funds raised by the utility provider’s employees to more than $50,000. Harbour chief executive Ali White said the support from Synergy’s giving program had transformed the lives of women and children who have relied on their services. “From financial donations to hands-on contributions like painting and renovating our refuge, Synergy Spirit has shown unwavering commitment to our cause,” she said. “We are beyond grateful for their generosity, which has allowed us to expand our services and create a safe, welcoming environment for those in need.” Alongside financial support, the program has seen Synergy employees donate time and services to refurbish facilities, donate children’s bikes, support events and contribute to raffles. Most recently, it played a pivotal role in a recent makeover of the Harbour refuge, including three new murals. Mr Walters said the partnership had been a rewarding experience for his team. “We’ve seen firsthand the difference that Harbour makes in the lives of women and children, and we are proud to have played a part in that,” he said. “Our team is deeply committed to supporting our community and we look forward to continuing our work with Harbour in other capacities in the future.”
