Popular Beam e-scooters trial returns to Bunbury’s CBD streets

Bunbury residents can expect to see people zipping along the streets of the CBD with the return of Beam e-scooters. Last year, Bunbury was the first city in WA to trial e-scooters, providing a fun, affordable, convenient and environmentally friendly way to visit the city’s attractions and businesses. The trial was brought to an unexpected halt by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the City of Bunbury has finalised a new trading licence agreement with Beam to bring it back. The e-scooters can be booked through an app-based system, and the pay-as-you-go fleet can be accessed from prominent Bunbury CBD locations including the Dolphin Discovery Centre, Jetty Baths, Bunbury Regional Art Gallery, and along Ocean Drive. City of Bunbury Mayor Jaysen Miguel tried out the e-scooters last year, and said they would be a unique attraction. “It’s fantastic to have Beam’s e-scooters return to Bunbury, providing a fun and affordable transport option for our community and visitors,” he said. “The e-scooters are a great way to visit the many attractions we have in Bunbury, whether that be our tourist destinations or a local store, restaurant, or cafe.” Beam e-scooters are available to book through the Beam app.
