Rural women prepare for their biggest gathering of the year as they celebrate a successful year of service

Nearly 120 women from the Country Women’s Association will gather in the South West, hailing from 24 branches to wrap up a successful year of friendship, service, and community. The Capel Country Club event is expected to bring everyone together, from the newest to the longest-serving members of the CWA ahead of Christmas. CWA member and deputy president Capel shire council Rosina Mogg said the Christmas lunch would promote a sense of belonging. “This is the most important opportunity to bring neighbouring CWA branches together for fellowship, giving them a chance to network and catch up with CWA friends,” she said. “The function benefits locally as we use meeting place facilities with staff and catering employment. “Local businesses sponsor the many sensational raffle prizes. “The lunch celebrates the essence of rural Country Woman’s Association coming together — the celebration of another year supporting their local communities of all the branches present at the event.” The event will include presentations to newly appointed honour badge recipients, and branch service legend awards will also be handed out. Special guests will include State president Felicity Edwards and CWA of WA CEO Trish Langdon, as well as board members. The Christmas lunch is slated for November 15.
