South West community to glam up in best op-shop finds for annual Rotary cocktail ball

Thrifty fashion fanatics and cocktail connoisseurs will come together for a night of dancing and entertainment for this year’s annual Rotary “Cocktail” Op Shop Ball. Three hundred guests dressed to impress are expected to attend the near sell-out event at the end of the month hosted by the Rotary Club of Bunbury Leschenault and Camp Quality The Rotary Op Shop Ball has been one of the premier events in the South West since 1998, providing an opportunity for punters to don creative costumes and enjoy a great night out. Cocktail-goers can expect themed, decorated tables, auctions, games and entertainment at the South West Italian Club. A live performance to soundtrack the night can be expected from one of the South West’s premier rock and roll bands, the fabulous Wizards. Op Shop Ball co-ordinator Ray Williams said he was encouraging all punters to have plenty of fun with their costume. “After 20 years it’s become such a fun and welcoming event, and we really want people do be driven by their imagination,” he said. The ball has been a key fundraiser in the South West, raising money for organisations both local and regional. This year all proceeds will go to beneficiaries including Camp Quality and several local Rotary projects which have been involved with the club for many years. The event will take place on Saturday, October 30, and tickets can be purchased through the Op Shop Ball Facebook event.
