A spotlight on struggling artists will shine as world-class performers unite to showcase unrehearsed original WA music for the first time at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.

Tender is the Night will combine original songs from regional talent with the world class offerings of the Tender Strings Quartet for an intimate celebration of music.

Born out of the COVID challenges that saw months of cancelled gigs, this project started as an intimate concert for friends in a Wembley backyard in September 2020, and grew from there for musicians struggling to showcase their work.

BREC program co-ordinator Codee-Lee Down is thrilled to see a performance that celebrates local music.

“The South West are in for a real treat with Tender is the Night,” she said.

“Audiences will be immersed in the songs and stories of some of WA’s best musicians as they celebrate the music of their peers through an original and heartfelt performance.”

The event will be headlined by Abbe May, whose career started with relentless touring in unreliable tour vans to notorious rock venues and busted up studios.

Fast forward to the present, her impressive career now spans all the way to global acclaim.

The show will premiere at BREC on May 5.
