WAFLW 2023: Sharks remain upbeat after seeing off Falcons
East Fremantle’s upbeat run in the WAFLW under Steph Walding continued on Sunday in Joondalup, after the Sharks defeated West Perth 5.10 (40) to 1.6 (12).
It was tough going early for the blue and whites, who took control in the second half with four unanswered goals.
Busselton product Beth Beckett finished with 19 disposals and five tackles, finishing the game as one of her side’s best players.
Aside from her multiple efforts at every contest, particularly in the third quarter, Beckett was prepared to always put her body on the line in a bid to help her side at the coalface.
Doma Fedele (Bunbury/Harvey Bulls) also played her part in the victory.
Although Swan Districts went down by 47 points against Subiaco on Sunday, Bunbury’s Daisy Rigby again battled hard, backing up from her league debut a week earlier.
