Dunsborough and Districts Country Club receive State Government grant to celebrate WA Bike Month in October

A Dunsborough sporting club has received State Government assistance as part of a push to promote bike riding across the State. The Dunsborough and Districts Country Club has been given a $1500 grant to help the town mark WA Bike Month in October. It will use the funding for its Dunsborough Open Trails project, which include bike skills sessions and rides. The club is one of a number of other organisations and local governments across the South West to receive funding for celebrations, including the Shire of Harvey and Margaret River Montessori School. More than $75,000 in grants have been handed out across the state to promote biking as transport option and fun activity, with transport Minister Rita Saffioti touting cycling as a healthy and sustainable option to get around. “WA Bike Month is a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in our state’s biggest celebration of bike riding, discover the joy and benefits of active travel and uncover local riding networks,” she said.
