Big achievements continued to flow out of the Capes region this month when Swings and Roundabouts won an award for best outdoor venue.

Swings and Roundabouts’ newly renovated Yallingup venue gave it the winning and envied edge at the Australian Hotels Association WA Awards for Excellence.

The venue’s sales and marketing manager Amanda Keady said the venue was centred on celebrating the Australian “backyard” lifestyle. “This award recognises and celebrates our commitment to that sentiment,” she said.

Swings and Roundabouts underwent a major renovation last year and reopened just when COVID-19 hit.

The renovations, which contributed greatly to the win, included a nature playground, an outdoor fire-pit area, a big deck overlooking the dam, and a dedicated ceremony site.

The win comes just weeks before the popular food and beverage location is set to open its recently renovated Margaret River venue.

Renovations at the site formerly known as Swings and Taphouse Kitchen will be completed next month.

“The new look ... will be very similar in style to our Yallingup venue with a bit more of an urban cellar door feel to it,” Ms Keady said.

Swings and Roundabouts director Andy Hopkins said the win was a major achievement.
