Mandurah: 20yo facing drugs and driving without licence charges after hit and run left teen in hospital
A 20-year-old man will face court this week in relation to an alleged hit-and-run that left a Mandurah teen in hospital.
TJ Wells, 18, was trying to cross Mandurah Terrace when a car allegedly crossed onto the wrong side of the road before hitting him from behind about 12.30pm on December 1.
The accident was captured on CCTV footage and showed Mr Wells being thrown into the air as a result of the collision.
The teen was taken to Peel Health Campus before being discharged with minor injuries, which included a gash to his head, scratches and bruising.
On December 8, Mandurah Detectives revealed they had charged a 20-year-old in relation to the crash.
Detectives allege the man was driving a white Toyota RAV4 when he hit Mr Wells on Mandurah Terrace and failed to stop and provide assistance.
The 20-year-old from Meadow Springs has been charged with three counts of no authority to drive, doing an act causing bodily harm, failing to stop and ensure assistance was received after an incident occasioning bodily harm, failing to report an incident occasioning bodily harm, possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply, possession of MDMA, six counts of offering to sell or supply a prohibited drug, disorderly conduct in a lockup and obstructing police.
He will appear before Perth Magistrates Court on December 11.
