East Victoria Park: Police hunt man over brutal Albany Highway cafe stabbing

A man was rushed to hospital after a brutal stabbing attack in East Victoria Park yesterday afternoon.

The reported attack took place in broad daylight — at around 5.40pm — at an Albany Highway cafe.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was at the cafe when he became involved in a verbal altercation with another man.

The war-of-words soon turned physical, and the victim was stabbed several times. He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He is still in hospital.

The assailant fled the scene in a car.

Police believe that the two men may know each other.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who saw the incident, in particular anyone who saw the man leave the area.
