Pedestrian struck by truck in Midland and rushed to hospital with serious injuries

A 38-year-old man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being hit by a truck on a highway in Perth’s east.
WA Police said the pedestrian was struck by a white Scania truck towing a flatbed trailer travelling west on Great Eastern Highway, near Brockman Road, Midland about 1.50pm on Friday.
The man was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital under lights and sirens, a St John spokeswoman said.
Major crash investigators were still examining the scene on Saturday, when a hospital spokeswoman said the patient was in a stable condition.
Asked if the driver continued on without stopping to render assistance or notify police, a spokeswoman said that would form part of the investigation.
Any witnesses are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
