The WA Police homicide squad has released an image of a man riding a bike outside an Armadale home where a man was found dead last week in the hopes he will contact police.

Detectives want to identify the man in the photo, who police believe may have spoke to the people who were inside the Lowanna Way “half way house” on September 15 — the day a 43-year-old man was found dead by paramedics.

A police release stated: “It is hoped the person in the image recognises themselves and makes contact with Crime Stoppers”.

Two people who were taken into custody following the undetermined death have been released from custody.

The scene on Lowanna Way remained cordoned off for a number of days last week as homicide squad detectives continued to try and piece together how the man died.

Paramedics were called to the men’s refuge for urgent medical assistance about 3.30pm but the man was pronounced dead at the scene and police attendance was requested.

A spokesperson confirmed “it was a police matter as soon as we got there”.

“There was nothing we could do to treat anyone,” they said.

One St John Ambulance backup car — typically called when support is required at a “complex scene” — arrived a short time after, along with forensic officers and homicide detectives.

Officers could be seen door knocking homes along the cordoned-off street to interview neighbours.

At the same time, paramedics were questioned by detectives sitting inside an ambulance parked in the driveway of the property.

A resident who lives across the road told The West Australian they had watched the dramatic scenes on September 15 unfold from their front yard.

“(A) couple of gentlemen were sort of sitting there, had a bit of an argument,” the local said.

“I heard sirens and that’s when one young gentleman ran from the house and took off down the street.

“He only looked about 18, looked quite scared.

“That’s when police turned up and everything sort of escalated from there.”

The neighbour — who did not want to be named — said the house was known to have frequent visits from police.

“There’s usually a lot of people coming and going,” he said.

“(One of the men sitting on the lawn) was yelling at one stage, when he got arrested I think.”

“I feel sad for whoever was living there.”

No charges have been laid and inquiries are continuing.
