How much would you pay for a steer?

A Harvey abattoir last week bought a prized steer for $11,000.

The Black Dog Ride steer is usually sold at the Perth Royal Show as part of a charity fundraiser, but the event was unable to go ahead due to COVID-19.

The steer was sold to Harvey Beef at the new location of Government House and the funds will be going towards the Black Dog Ride charity which raises awareness of depression.

Harvey Beef owner Nicola Forrest met with the Yost family who donated the steer along with Peter and Judy Milton from the Black Dog Ride Charity.
