Brady Hough added to West Coast Eagles injury list

A back injury had sidelined Harvey product Brady Hough, who was added to the West Coast Eagles’ injury list last week after experiencing back spasms at training. Hough was listed as a test for the weekend but did not appear for the Eagles in the AFL or WAFL side — which had the match against East Fremantle postponed to May 14 due to the amount of players unavailable through injury or AFL Health and Safety protocols. At time of print, it was not yet known if the former Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault Lion would return for the WAFL Eagles against the Sharks on Saturday. The Eagles’ 2021 number 31 draft pick last played in blue and gold in round two of the WAFL against South Fremantle and had 13 disposals, after recording 19 in the opening round against Perth. Hough last played in the senior side in West Coast’s only win of the year against Collingwood at Marvel Stadium in round three and recorded 15 disposals, before entering AFL Health and Safety protocols and being unlucky to not return for round five against Sydney. Meanwhile, a Dockers debut from fellow 2021 draftee Jye Amiss highlighted the round for the South West products, with Isiah Winder and Marlion Pickett also returning to the top level. Busselton product Amiss played his long-awaited first game for Fremantle in Friday night’s thumping of North Melbourne and kicked two goals — one with his first kick in AFL football. Former Eaton Boomer Winder played his first game for the Eagles since last year’s round four loss to St Kilda, and amassed 10 disposals as West Coast were beaten by the Lions. Manjimup’s Pickett returned for the Tigers in their 27-point victory over the Magpies, recording 13 disposals and a goal in his first game since round five’s loss to Adelaide.
