Organisers have confirmed the 2020 Harvey Agricultural Show has been cancelled.

Show president Cheryl Moyle said committee members and executives met last night to make the decision to cancel the show.

“Everyone was in full support of the decision,” Mrs Moyle said.

“There was no other possible outcome we discussed.”

She said committee members discussed whether they could simply postpone the show, but decided there was too much uncertainty ahead and cancelling was the only option.

“I think it would have been a mistake to consider doing it later in the year,” she said.

“We just have to start planning now for 2021.”

Mrs Moyle said the impact on the community and suppliers weighed heavily in the decision-making process.

“The impact on our community is going to be huge,” she said.
