Harvey police are seeking information about a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Third Street, Harvey early this morning.

About 6:30am a Harvey man was towing a 6.5m boat behind his four-wheel-drive vehicle along Third Street.

A white sedan travelling in the opposite direction struck the front and side of the vehicle and boat, causing significant damage to both.

The driver of the four-wheel-drive got out to exchange details with the other diver, who drove off when the man’s back was turned.

Harvey police Sgt Scott Gillis said the white sedan would most likely have extensive damage down the driver’s side.

“Whenever there is damage to property there is an obligation to stop and exchange details,” Sgt Gillis said.

“Not only that, but people should stop to check on the welfare of the other driver.

“In this instance the driver was unharmed, but this may not always be the case.”

Anyone with information can contact Harvey Police on 9782 4111.
