The staff at Kev’s Country Meats have once again been recognised for their quality products, winning several categories in the South West heats of the Sausage King Competition.

The store’s barbecue sausages won second place at the competition, with their Harvey Bulls burgers and their beef, beetroot and fetta burgers each winning first place in their categories.

The store also won silver and bronze at the State awards.

Store owner and manager Candis Gordon said she could not have such high quality products if not for the quality produce she sourced from the Harvey area.

“I love the support I get from the community,” she said.

“I have fresh local produce from excellent local producers,” Ms Gordon said.

“It is this fresh local produce that means we are able to create award-winning small goods.”

Some of the meat Ms Gordon is using in the award-winning burgers has come from prized steers from the Perth Royal Show, bought by Harvey Beef at the show’s charity cattle auction and sold to Ms Gordon once processed.

“The Perth Royal Show is a special event which brings the city and the country closer together and we were impressed by the quality of the award-winning cattle at the show,” Harvey Beef general manager Kim McDougall said.

“Kev’s Country Meats in Harvey supports local farmers and we are delighted they will be offering their customers an opportunity to try this top-quality beef.”
