Fatal crash closes South Western Highway

A man has died at the scene of a three-vehicle crash near Wagerup.

A police spokesman confirmed the occupant of the third vehicle was unable to be saved by emergency crews.

The crash occurred about 6.30am and forced the closure of South Western Highway from Yarloop to Waroona.

The highway is still closed in both directions due to a crash near Willowdale Road.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise extreme caution while police and emergency crews attend the scene.

Occupants from two vehicles were not injured or received only minor injuries.

The occupant of the third vehicle was trapped for short period of time and is believed to have serious injuries.

St John Ambulance and DFES are at the scene.
