Stop-work order issued for breach at BP upgrades site
Machines working on upgrades to the Ridley Place BP were brought to a standstill on Tuesday afternoon after Harvey Shire Council staff issued a stop-work order citing environmental concerns.
Shire president Tania Jackson said there had been a breach in the de-watering process on site which caused water to leak into the neighbouring residential property and onto the council reserve.
Cr Jackson said the orders were issued before liquids could flow into the Leschenault Estuary.
