The ACT has recorded eight new cases of COVID-19 in the latest reporting period.

It comes as the number of COVID-19 patients in Canberra hospitals fell to seven.

Of those, three are being treated in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.

The territory's vaccination rate continued to inch higher on Thursday, with 97.9 per cent of residents aged over 12 years now fully vaccinated.

Testing rates have remained stable, with 1747 negative results recorded on Wednesday.
