West Lamington: 29yo man charged with murder after he allegedly ‘deliberately struck’ 42yo with vehicle

A man has been charged with murder after he allegedly struck a man with a vehicle on a Kalgoorlie road, leaving him for dead in the early hours of Sunday. Police said a 29-year-old man would face court on Tuesday over the brutal death of 42-year-old man. Officer were first alerted to the incident about 5.50am on Sunday when an unconscious man was found on Hawkins Street, near Memorial Drive, in the suburb of West Lamington. The victim was declared dead at the scene by first responders. Further investigations by homicide squad detectives revealed the 29-year-old man allegedly hit the victim with a vehicle about 1.35am on Sunday. He has since been charged with murder and will face Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today. Hawkins Street, Memorial Drive and Marshall Street were cordoned off to the public as detectives investigated the death.
