West Aussies have just hours to get their entry into what could provide a lucky player with one of the biggest lotto windfalls of 2022.

If just one entrant scoops all of tonight’s mammoth $60 million Powerball jackpot, it will be the second largest win of the year so far.

Top honours in the first six months of 2022 go to a Kalgoorlie syndicate which scored $63 million in winnings in February.

Overall the State’s biggest ever lotto win was recorded in late 2021 when a syndicate of 55 women from a Perth gym claimed the entire $80 million Powerball prize.

Lotterywest expects more than 570,000 tickets will be sold in WA ahead of Thursday night’s Powerball draw.

“With such a significant jackpot, we’re expecting it to be busy in-store leading up to (the draw),” spokeswoman Lisa Williams said.

“The busiest time for ticket sales is usually between 4pm and 5pm on draw day.”

The most frequently drawn Powerball numbers this year have been 16 (drawn five times), 11 (drawn four times) and numbers 9, 18, 7 and 17 (each drawn three times).

Tickets are available until 6pm.
