Boddington Country Muster forced to postpone after Perth and Peel lockdown

While the recent snap lockdown was limited to the Perth and Peel regions, its impacts have been felt across WA with events such as the Boddington Country Muster forced to cancel or postpone.

Originally scheduled to start on May 1, the Boddington Country Muster was set to feature rockabilly, bootscooting and whip-crackers while raising funds for Beyond Blue and victims of cyclone Seroja.

However, the uncertainty caused by last month’s lockdown forced organisers to postpone the event to August 7.

Co-ordinator Kathy Carver said the postponement was “heartbreaking”.

The process of rescheduling was a difficult balancing act of trying to make sure the new date did not clash with other events.

“We couldn’t guarantee that there wasn’t going to be a two-metre ruling, so we thought rather than risk that we would just postpone it,” she said.

“We’ve put a lot of effort into this and wanted to make sure there were no restrictions.”
