Dog bait warning: Pingelly police are investigating a potential dog baiting incident, local pet owners warned

Pingelly police are currently investigating a suspect food item after a local dog owner found it on their property on Thursday, July 17.

The owner said the food may have been a dog baiting attempt after they discovered the unknown item in their secure yard.

Fortunately, the dog appeared to have not eaten the item and further monitoring concludes it was unharmed.

Pingelly police have made a request to test the food item for poison as they investigate.

They reminded dog owners to remain vigilant of anyone hanging around their property.

“Keep an eye on your dog, make sure you know what your dog’s consuming,” Pingelly police said.

“Do regular checks to make sure there’s nothing untoward lying around.

“Nobody wants a dog to be poisoned.”
