NSW has recorded 1007 new Covid-19 infections and 11 deaths, including three people in their homes and an unvaccinated aged care resident.

Those who died were 10 men and one woman, and none of them had been doubled jabbed, NSW Health’s Jeremy McAnulty announced on Saturday.

One was aged in their 40s, one in their 50s, two in their 60s, three in their 70s, three in their 80s and one in their 90s.

The aged care resident - a man in his 70s from the Blue Mountains - acquired his infection at the Uniting Springwood Residential Aged Care Facility.

He was among nine people who had not got the jab, while two of the deceased had received one dose.

At least eight had underlying medical conditions, Dr McAnulty said.

Three people died in their homes, with their infections diagnosed after their deaths.

“NSW Health extends its sincere condolences to their loved ones,” Dr McAnulty said.

The latest deaths bring the total in NSW since the start of the Delta outbreak to 288 and 344 since the start of the pandemic.

Three of the new cases are in correctional facilities.

There are currently 1187 cases in hospital including 229 in ICU, 118 of whom are on ventilators.

Sewage surveillance has detected fragments of the virus in samples from Tamworth in northeast NSW, Dareton and Balranald in far western NSW, Oberon in the central west, Dungog in the Hunter Region and Eden on the south coast.

“There are have been no recent cases identified in these catchment areas,” Dr McAnulty said.

“Everyone in these areas is urged to monitor for the onset of symptoms, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received.”

Meanwhile, NSW Health added two places visited by confirmed cases to the long list of hundreds of venues of concern.

* Cowra Dance Factory, 19 Cowra Road on Wednesday September 15 between 3.30pm and 7pm

* Cowra Ballet School, 45 Redfern Street on Friday September 17 between 4.30pm and 6.15pm

Anyone who attended these venues at the above times is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days since they were there, regardless of the result.

It comes after NSW crisis cabinet met on Friday evening to discuss the next phrase of its road map to lifting restrictions, which will be unveiled next week.

Unvaccinated NSW residents could remain barred from Covid-19 freedoms when the state hit its 80 per cent double-dose target. As of midnight on Thursday, 57.8 per cent had both doses.

The new freedoms will likely include increasing the caps on weddings, funerals, hospitality venues and home visitors, as well as a return to community sport.

Only fully vaccinated people and those with medical exemptions will be allowed to take part.

Major events will also have bigger crowds, while limits on returned international travellers are also due to be lifted.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian promised the state would begin reopening the Monday after the state had vaccinated 70 per cent of residents over the age of 16, with a probable date of October 11.

On current projections, NSW could cross the 80 per cent threshold as soon as October 16.
