Wanneroo Botanic Gardens mini golf calls out overnight vandals that teepeed course during peak school holidays
School holiday fun at a local mini golf course was disrupted after a group of vandals decided to redecorate the gardens with a touch of toilet paper.
Families that found a break in the weather and were excited to play a round at the Wanneroo mini golf course today had their plans interrupted, thanks to a group of overnight artists.
The picturesque course that features 36-holes, the largest outdoor mini golf complex in Australia, was tee’d up last night but not in the sense a golf course would appreciate.
The course didn’t take lightly to having toilet paper draped around the garden, deciding to hit back at the group of vandals.
Putting their work on social media, the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens account took the time to say “a huge thanks to the ‘decorating team’ who visited overnight!”.
“While we appreciate the thought, it’s just a touch early to be setting up for our Magic of Christmas event. We’ll most likely be sticking with fairy lights again this year, but points for creativity!
“We reviewed the CCTV this morning and were truly delighted to see your smiling faces. Also… those scooters? Wow. So cool!
“We’ve passed along everything to the authorities - just in case they’d like you to spread your ‘decorating’ talents to a few more venues around town”.
The course is typically open from Wednesday to Sunday but operates seven days a week during the school holidays which is currently in its second week.
The venue is also known for hosting stunning weddings with vibrant green backdrops in the botanical garden which the golf course is built around.
