What happens to Fergie after her former husband Andrew lost his home and titles
Sarah Ferguson, formerly known as the Duchess of York, will no longer have a royal residence and will be forced to fend for herself as a private citizen.
Ferguson, or “Fergie”, previously shared the Royal Lodge with Andrew. Despite the couple being divorced since 1996, Fergie moved into the royal residence in 2008.

Despite Andrew being offered a home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, funded by the king. Fergie will be forced to sort out her own lodgings following the scandal.
Andrew, previously known as Prince Andrew, will now be known as Mr Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, after King Charles stripped him of his royal titles following his Epstein connection.
Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.
The removal process applies to Andrew’s titles of Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh and the style “His Royal Highness”.
Andrew previously told media he had cut off all contact with the disgraced pedophile. However, e-mails surfaced which showed the pair were still in contact well after accusations against him were made public.
Fergie has already had her royal title of Duchess of York removed. She will now only be known as Sarah Ferguson.
The couple’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will keep their titles.
King Charles is said to have been very keen to protect his nieces, who remain Her Royal Highnesses as granddaughters of Queen Elizabeth, according to multiple reports.
On Friday, royal commentator Russell Myers appeared on Sunrise.
“Andrew will be given a residence on the royal Sandringham estate in Norfolk. He’s been banished from Windsor,” Myers said, explaining the new developments.
“Sarah Ferguson, we understand, was asking for a royal residence as well.
“I’m told she will no longer have any residence within Windsor. She will have to fend for herself. It’s very, very much that Andrew and Fergie have been exiled from this affair.”
Myers went on to say “people power” had played a huge role in the decision.
“Not only did we have MPs standing up in Parliament saying that they were going to explore ways of potentially stripping Andrew from his titles but the King being heckled on a public engagement on Monday.
“I think it really had shifted the focus in Buckingham Palace. They really couldn’t have this being discussed so openly anymore.
“I think what the palace should have really done is act very swiftly when they knew this was the only inevitable scenario for Andrew. He has behaved absolutely disgracefully.
“He has taken all the good work and all the talk from the good work that the royal family are doing on a daily basis. And it’s a very, very sorry end for him.”
Myers said Prince William also had a hand in the decision.
“I’m told certainly William has always had an eye on the future and of course, he is a future king,” Myers said.
“His family of course, the line of succession, he needs to make sure that the royal family is fit for the modern day.
“Certainly, they are answerable to the people as we’ve seen in the last few days. William has had considerable influence over the King in this whole process.”
