Beards enjoy worldwide cult status

Bunbury Herald

Australian folk rock comedy band The Beards have announced they will celebrate the completion of their inaugural world tour with a show in Bunbury in June.

Currently in Europe for the very first time, the group famous for tracks such as If Your Dad Doesn’t Have a Beard; You’ve Got Two Moms and It Only Takes a Fortnight to Grow a Decent Beard, will invade the Prince of Wales Hotel as part of a string of Australian dates.

The South Australian four-piece first formed in 2005 for a one-off show in Adelaide expounding the benefits of having a beard.

The show was well received and The Beards quickly formed a local cult following, resulting in the release of a self titled debut album in July 2007.

The group has since appeared twice at the Big Day Out. The Beards will perform at the Prince on June 8.
