Bunbury kebab shop ransacked by group of teenagers with footage of the incident posted to social media

Police are investigating after vision has emerged showing a group of teenagers physically assaulting a worker while ransacking a Bunbury kebab shop. A video obtained by the South Western Times appears to show about 10 youngsters in Orfa Kebabs & Turkish Bakery screaming at a staff member and jumping over the counter with at least one punching and attempting to choke a worker. The teenagers, who are believed to be underage, can be heard encouraging each other to grab items, while workers at the venue are yelling at the group to leave. A number of the individuals involved in the incident were carrying backpacks, wearing balaclavas and some covered their faces with hooded jackets and hats. The South Western Times can confirm the incident took place on Wednesday. The venue is a popular spot for people indulging in Bunbury’s night life and is open until the early hours of the morning. South West District Supt Geoff Stewart said while no charges had yet been laid, police were investigating the incident. “Bunbury police attended the premises, have identified suspects and are in the process of locating them to deal with the behaviour seen on the video,” he said. “In any place it is unacceptable to the business, police, and most importantly the community, and it comes with consequences.” Posted to social media platform Snapchat, the incident comes just months after teenagers in Bunbury were using the same social media application to document a string of illegal and sordid activities as part of an end-of-year leavers “scavenger hunt”. Footage of the challenges involved in the scavenger hunt was seen by police and was also investigated. Last week, another incident where a taxi driver was threatened to be “cut up” by an axe, and tools and rocks were hurled at his vehicle, took place in a suburb only 10 minutes outside of Bunbury.
