Bunbury Repertory Club set to delight with sell-out Snow White Christmas pantomime

A sellout re-imagining of a Disney classic is taking to the Little Theatre stage this holiday season, promising a Christmas twist. Bunbury Repertory Club is set to stage its annual pantomime next weekend, this year taking on Snow White and the Seven Christmas Elves. The story follows the Disney tale audiences know and love, but instead features Christmas elves, rather than dwarfs, mother Christmas, the charming Prince Noel and the Elf Grinch. Starring in the titular role is 14-year-old Jaycee Finlay who said the production has something for everyone. “It’s very family friendly, it’s very kid-involved and it’s good for any age,” she said. “We have a great cast, it’ll keep you on the edge of your seat . . . it’s a great show, I don’t know how else to say it.” Written by Alex Jackson, the pantomime will include popular tunes including Elton John’s Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Rhianna classic Umbrella and much-loved Lionel Bart show tune Consider Yourself. Featuring a small but powerful cast of just 24, 21 of whom are under 18, leading lady Finlay says rehearsals are going well. “Everyone is doing very well for their age, there are times when they get off track but they are very good and learning their lines, knowing when to come in and having a good attitude towards it,” she said. Snow White will play from November 26 to December 4 at Eaton’s Little Theatre.
