Cinefest organisers calling for volunteers
Organisers of Australia’s largest destination film festival are on the hunt for volunteers to help bring this year’s event to life.
CinefestOZ returns to Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River and Augusta from August 23 to 28, with another diverse line-up of film and festivities planned across the region.
Last year’s event brought stars Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen, Rove McManus and Tasma Walton to the region, and in previous years has drawn the likes of David Wenham, Rachel Ward, Bryan Brown, Hugo Weaving and Jack Thompson.
More than 100 volunteers helped bring together a successful event last year, despite the unpredictable COVID restrictions.
This year, volunteers can step up for roles including film hosts, events crew, bar attendants, ushers, hospitality crew and festival promoters.
Anyone over the age of 14 is encouraged to apply, although bar attendants will require RSA certification.
Events will once again include a mix of screenings, gala events, winery lunches, industry discussions, workshops and script readings, as well as sidebar events in local cafes and wine bars – all celebrating the best of Australian and French film.
Anyone wanting to volunteer for these events can go to the Cinefest website. Each festival volunteer receives a Movie Crew polo shirt and a beret.
