Dangerous Tatnell hot for Shootout

Krikke Motorsport driver Brooke Tatnell is in ominous form ahead of the Krikke Boys Shootout this weekend after storming to his second consecutive World Series Sprintcars victory in as many weeks at Perth Motorplex on Saturday.
The win was not enough to secure Tatnell a ninth WSS title, a poor run of results in the middle part of the season coming back to haunt the NSW driver, who fell just 68 points short of winner Steve Lines.
Starting from third on the grid behind Lines in second and Kerry Madsen in first, Tatnell made his move in the 23rd lap of the feature, aggressively blasting around the outside of the track while most other drivers were happy to play it safe in the low line.
After dominating the early proceedings Madsen relinquished the lead to Tatnell with six laps to go and never really challenged to get it back.
When Lines dropped to fourth in the 28th lap the hearts of Krikke Motorsport fans briefly began to race but the South Australian was able to hold on under pressure from fifth-placed Robbie Farr to secure the points necessary to wrap up his first championship.
Lines ended the season on 3453 points, ahead of Tatnell (3385) and 2012-13 victor James McFadden (3204) in third. Luke Dillon, driving for Bunbury-based Diamond Bay Motorsport, finished fourth (3097) with Jamie Veal (2901) rounding out an extremely competitive top five.
There was more good news for Krikke Motorsport team boss Shane Krikke with reigning Shootout champion Tim Kaeding finishing a respectable 12th in the A-Main in his first outing in the Cool Car since early 2013.
Both Kaeding and Tatnell will pilot Krikke Motorsport hotrods at the weekend as the team launches its first ever dual assault on the Shootout.
