ECU to host free talk on Voice to Parliament with speakers Professor Marcia Langton AO and Ken Wyatt AM

Edith Cowan University Bunbury Campus will host a free seminar on the upcoming Voice to Parliament referendum hosted by two experts on Sunday. The seminar, titled What Is The Voice To Parliament, will be hosted by co-author of the Indigenous Voice Process Final Report Professor Marica Langton AO and former minister for indigenous affairs Ken Wyatt AM. The talk will feature a public forum where all those unsure of how to vote, or looking for more information, can have their questions answered. Both Professor Langton and Mr Wyatt have been invited to speak across the South West as experts on the subject. Bunbury MLA Don Punch said the idea to have two experts come down to the South West to answer questions about the referendum came down to a decision on public education. “Making an alteration to the constitution is significant and the only occasion when the people of Australia, not politicians, make the decision about how they want Australia to function and be governed, so it’s vital people are well-informed about the issues,” Mr Punch said. The seminar will be held in Building 6 at the ECU Bunbury campus from 2pm to 4pm. Registration for the free event is via the Trybooking website, with limited spaces.
