The architect that will lead the design of the $3 million South Bunbury Education Centre upgrade to bolster early learning has been appointed. Education Minister Sue Ellery announced H+H Architects will design the facility, which was a commitment by the McGowan Government ahead of last year’s election. The planned expansion, which would see a new kindergarten and pre-primary block to develop young students, include two classrooms, kitchen facilities, an internal store, toilets and an external play area. The new buildings will replace existing transportable classrooms currently on site. Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery said the redevelopment will help develop a range of early-learning skills and create excitement as children move through school years. “This important project will mean Bunbury Education Support Centre students can have all their educational needs met right from their early years of learning,” she said. “The outstanding new learning spaces will support some of the South Bunbury area’s youngest students to flourish and get the most of their schooling.” Bunbury MLA Don Punch commended the commitment for supporting Bunbury’s students. The project is currently in the initial design stage, with completion of the new facilities anticipated in 2023.
