Bunbury Fringe Fest has announced its biggest program yet as the full schedule of events has launched for the 2024 festival. From January 24-49 the Stirling Street Arts Centre will be transformed into Fringe Hub, where three performance venues will be located: The Fringe Garden, The Alcoa Big Top and the Tronox Theatre. The Rose Hotel and the Pavilion Nightclub will also host comedy and cabaret acts. Notable highlights include Fremantle rock band Ra Ra Viper, coming off their performances in the Out of the Woods Festival and a national tour. Footy fans will recognised the band as the group who performed a cover of Forever Young as Fremantle Docker David Mundy ran his retirement lap of honour in 2022. Their show at the Alcoa Big Top on January 20 is predicted to be one of the top-selling acts. The festival includes events ranging from family-friendly dance parties, live music performances, stand-up comedy, burlesque, drag, dramatic plays and pub trivia. Another comedy highlight includes Presentation Is Everything, an award-winning stand-up performance told entirely through Microsoft Powerpoint. 2024 celebrates the eighth year for Bunbury Fringe, which has included a record-number of 43 shows in the Fringe venues at the Stirling Street Arts Centre and 40 Fringe Buddies shows throughout the city. This continues the trend of Bunbury Fringe making efforts to increase its show potential, after Films on the Fringe saw a sell-out winter season for the first time. Films on the Fringe saw three different immersive film screenings at three different Bunbury venues, featuring live themed performances and cocktails.
