Groups celebrate event funding

An afternoon tea was held for the South West Events Program funding recipients on Thursday at the Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury.

A total of 37 events were given funding support this year, including the City of Bunbury’s Australia Day celebrations.

The South West Development Commission injected $100,000 into the South West events calendar.

South West MLC Colin Holt said funding for arts and events was a central part of making the region a great place to live and visit.

“It is part of the fabric of our own communities, ” he said.

Applications for 2015 funding are open next month.
