Local Robyn Dart a croquet champion

Quiet achiever Robyn Dart is proving her finesse in the state’s croquet league.

The Busselton local was first introduced to the sport in Narrogin and continued after moving to Busselton in 2015 with the aim of retiring and improving her game.

She made her representative debut as WA’s number 3 in 2019 in Victoria and was recognised by Croquetwest as having won the most games for a first-year player in the number 3 position.

COVID shut the door on interstate competition soon after.

WA, of course, was largely unaffected and local competition continued.

After winning the State Women’s singles in 2020, Dart continued her success by claiming runner-up in both 2021 and 2022.

In the same years, she teamed with Gary Phipps from Bunbury’s Moorabinda to win the State mixed doubles.

Most recently the croquet stalwart partnered Dianne Bower of Moorabinda and Busselton to win the Australian Women’s Masters’ doubles championship in April.

Dart was also victorious in the singles competition, claiming the Country Week singles championship.

Unsurprisingly, as a member of Busselton Croquet Club, she has won singles championships in 2021 and 2022 and the doubles with Henry Pelosi in 2022.

Next month, she plans to compete in the Australian Women’s Singles in South Australia, followed by the Interstate Shield.
